Important Note - Care, Storage and Display
Our work is handcrafted to very precise tolerances and must be kept within the range of 40-60% relative humidity at all times. Failure to do so may cause inoperability or permanent damage.
Please read the Caring for Wood Puzzles guide to ensure proper fit and operation. We recommend occasional polishing with Renaissance Wax to keep wood puzzles in top condition.
Now, on to the Puzzles....
Aha Box
DESIGNER: | Allan Boardman |
MATERIAL: | Bocote, Iroko |
RELEASE DATE: | 10.18.2021 |
EDITION: | 90 Copies Released |
SIZE: | 2.75" x 1.7" x 1.2" |
Small Box Two - "Aha Box" This design was Alan Boardman's IPP exchange puzzle in 2004. Alan describes it as "Designed to lure your non-puzzler friends into "our" world." Seemingly solid and impenetrable, Aha Box gives very few clues upon handling. A solution does exist, and it's quite tricky to discover. Sturdy, pocket-sized, and with a surprising amount of useful space inside, Aha Box is a great puzzle to share with friends and non-puzzlers.
The construction of the Aha Box puzzle is exact, with a solid fit and feel. We made this run with beautifully contrasting Iroko paired with a striking plank of Bocote.
Each copy is signed and dated; 90 copies were made for this release. Aha box ships assembled and is priced at $69.

Soma Burr
DESIGNER: | Rod Bogart |
MATERIAL: | Curly Maple, Chechen |
RELEASE DATE: | 10.18.2021 |
EDITION: | 56 Copies Released |
SIZE: | 3.59" x 2.51" x 1.48" |
Soma Burr is Rod Bogart's amazing creation which combines the fabled Soma Cube with a traditional three-piece board burr. The solver must fit the cube inside the burr; with only one solution, this is a tricky proposition. A delightful combination of packing puzzle and interlocking burr, Soma Burr is sure to become a favorite! Construction of Soma Burr was done with extraordinary attention to detail. Each Soma piece is precisely milled and finished with full bevels. The fit is perfect; not too tight or loose, ensuring a lovely solving experience. 56 copies are available for this release, each signed and dated. This puzzle is shipped disassembled and is priced at $149. |
Exhaust
DESIGNER: | Émil Áskerli |
MATERIAL: | Walnut, Yellowheart |
RELEASE DATE: | 10.18.2021 |
EDITION: | 62 Copies Released |
SIZE: | 3" x 2.25" x 2.25" |
"Exhaust" is a very unusual six-piece interlocking burr that combines board and burr piece shapes to achieve a fascinating symmetry. The two board and two burr pieces interact with the two hybrid-style pieces to create an unusual challenge. The solution is devious and clever. 62 copies are available for this release, each signed and dated. Exhaust ships in the assembled configuration and is priced at $75. |
Japanese Wood Joint Burr
DESIGNER: | Frans De Vreugd |
MATERIAL: | Ash and Shedua |
RELEASE DATE: | 10.18.2021 |
EDITION: | 40 Copies Released |
SIZE: | 3.4" x 3.4" x 3.4" |
Frans designed the Japanese Wood Joint Burr in 1999 for the London IPP. Originally crafted in very small quantities by Wayne Daniel, Frans considers it one of his nicest designs. As he still receives requests for the puzzle we decided to make a small batch. I'm glad that we did! This burr is uniquely tricky in both concept and operation. 40 copies are available for this release, each signed and dated, and delivered disassembled (unsolved). It is priced at $109. |
Large Reversible Maze (October 2021)

RELEASE DATE: | 10.18.2021 |
EDITION: | 96 Copies Released |
SIZE: | 4.375" x 4.375" x 1.5" |
The Large Reversible Maze by Ohno is an interesting three-dimensional maze puzzle. The goal is to maneuver the shuttle piece from outside the puzzle to its final resting place in the middle square. Doing so is far trickier than you might imagine...typical of Ohno's designs, there are many twists, turns, and surprising moves. |
DDD Burr Set (Stainless Steel)

Aluminum Titan
DESIGNER: | Felix Ure |
MATERIAL: | Solid Aluminum |
SIZE: | 2" (50 mm) |
This is the aluminum version of Felix Ure's excellent Titan puzzle. Functionality is the exact same as the brass version.
Titan is a simple-looking, yet highly challenging take-apart puzzle. The first design by Felix Ure, it's widely regarded as being both incredibly difficult and very satisfying to solve. The goal is to open the sphere but to do so you must defeat the mechanism which keeps the two spheres together.
Machined from solid aluminum, Titan measures 2 inches (50mm) in diameter and weighs 515g or approximately one lb.
Puzzle Mad wrote an excellent blog post; Mr. Puzzle's video review is excellent but does contain spoilers.
Aluminum Titan is priced at $129.

Brass Monkey Four
DESIGNER: | Steve Nichols, Ali Morris |
MATERIAL: | Brass, Stainless Steel |
SIZE: | 2.75" (7 cm) |
Nearly identical in appearance to Brass Monkey One, Two, and Three, Brass Monkey Four has yet again upped the difficulty. Steve and Ali's continued innovation has created a monster puzzle that is perfect for fooling those who think they have seen it before. Brass Monkey 4 looks like a standard interlocking Burr. It isn't!
The subtle differences on the end of its pieces compared to its predecessors belie the additional complexity hiding within. Like the first few puzzles, it weighs almost 800g (1.1 lbs). Each piece is 70mm long and has a diameter of 19mm.
Complete the collection with Brass Monkey One, Brass Monkey Two, and Brass Monkey Three. Brass Monkey Four is priced at $125.
