Space Case is Dee Dixon's latest puzzle box. Artfully crafted from canarywood with complementary bloodwood accents, it's named after the classic figures (alien, rocket and UFO) adorning the sides of the box. Space Case is a difficult solve with 10-12 opening steps necessary. Once solved, you're able to view the internal mechanism and further admire the craftsmanship.
57 copies available for this release. This puzzle is shipped assembled.

Space Case is very well crafted from beautiful woods, and with nice details for the theme, like an alien face, a rocket, and a UFO. After the mechanism keeps confusing the puzzler for a while with the rotating pieces acting in strange ways, one can then find some ways to make them interact. But that is not the whole solution, an other mechanism needs to be solved, and needs to be deduced without seeing it. After that, the box will open ... after solving some more mechanisms. This box features a lot of steps and hidden mechanisms, but the behaviour of the parts will provide the puzzler some feedback to what may be happening. After solving the mystery of the UFO, rocket and alien, you are no longer lost in space, but open the internal space of this nice box. A nice journey and fun to solve!

This last work of Dee is a wonderful crafted wood puzzle box, with such interesting mechanisms that in some ways reminds me of a clock. Solving this means you have to be patient to understand what each element does. I think that a random solve is close to impossible, so expect a tough challenge, but at the same time a beautiful one. Forget those guys who start their timer and start solving puzzles. This is about the journey not necessarily the destination. The wood is SO nice and beautiful. Can't wait to see Dee come up with new designs. Congratulations to the team!
