Five Cubes by Ichiro is the final iteration of this brilliant concept. Crafted from beautiful Patagonian Rosewood, this is perhaps the trickiest iteration. The goal is to make five cubes using all the magnets, with none of the cubes overlapping by their neighbor by more than one-half cube. One solution has been found to date; can you find another?

After I got the 1X3 cube puzzles I liked it so I decided to try the 1X 5 cube. Great fun and not as challenging as I though it might be. Before I found the correct solution I was able to find 2 other variations.....but these all didn't hold together and some had the magnets showing. The correct solution has no magnets showing, all sides are smooth and hold together without coming apart. All in all good fun and very well made. Love the wood.
A very very original puzzle idea, thanks to the Cubicdissection team, I cannot remember to similar puzzles with magnets, and - really - it is not trivial to solve
I have 3 cubes, 5 cubes and surround from this series of puzzles and I will definitively get the 4 cubes as well to make the set. Puzzling wise it won’t take hours to “solve” it, however you can spend an hour or 2 afterwords trying to build your own shapes, it’s a great fidget toy. You can also take it apart, mix the pieces and re solve it again. As always Eric’s craftsmanship is second to none. Love mine, will never let them go. Thanks!
