The idea for the Escalating Box came from a couple of different mechanisms I'd been fooling around with. I was going to release them as two fairly simple separate boxes but realized that I could put them both into one trickier box. I made a poll on our Facebook Group and everyone overwhelmingly voted for a single, more difficult box. Done and done!
I got to the drawing board and realized not only could I put both mechanisms together, but that they would interact making the sum more difficult than the parts. Finally, just for fun, I added a third tricky lock before the final release move. Be careful what you ask for, facebook friends!
This is a fun solve, about medium in difficulty, and one that rewards progressive solving and manipulative experimentation. Construction is beautifully realized with a Curly maple box and several exotic wood options for the lid.

Can’t say enough about this box. Really gave me a challenge, and the craftsmanship, intelligence and tactile-sonic-visual beauty of it is wonderful. A keeper, and sitting on my console awaiting the next victim for pleasure.
One Beautiful Puzzle
Another great masterpiece designed and created by renowned puzzle maker Eric Fuller w/Cubicdissection.com! This puzzle box has a lot of tricky moves in order to be able to open the lid and is a real pleasure to work with in trying to solve! This puzzle box is such a very well thought out piece that should not be underestimated. Eric calls this puzzle a medium level of difficulty but I’m personally going to call it a more hard level of difficulty. This puzzle has a lot of secrets inside to work through in order to achieve the conclusion. Simply a box with a lid but OH WOW, what all you have to work through in order to remove the lid is nothing short of amazing!! Also the curly maple wood that makes up the body of this box is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful and the purpleheart lid tops it off perfect with wonderful contrast!!!! One of my favorites from Eric for sure!!!! And absolutely worth the price with no hesitation!!!!
Challenging and worth the price.
I dont mind paying more for puzzles that take time and have quality. This puzzle is cool. I would fiddle with it while I watched reruns of Seinfeld. There were a few moments of surprise. I like it a lot. The quality, of course is top notch. Keep up the good work.
