Derek's Split Maze Burr has been eagerly awaited as the more difficult and imposing version of the original Maze Burr released years ago by Kagen. Upping the ante with double maze plates on each face, this puzzle is more of a puzzle system. There are many challenges, with "simple" solutions requiring 30+ moves up to the most difficult configuration requiring over 300 moves to solve! The puzzle comes with tools to rearrange the plates and a downloadable booklet illustrating the problems (a link to download the PDF manual is included in the order confirmation email.) Hours and hours of fun make this an excellent value for your puzzling dollar; this is sure to be a classic!
Construction of this puzzle is outstanding! Precision milled hardwood makes the cage exceptionally strong, complimented by beautiful birds eye maple panels. The precision-cut acrylic finishes off the look and feel of quality. No expense or effort was spared, down to brass threaded inserts for the polished stainless retaining screws.

This is a very well constructed puzzelbox with hours of enjoyment. Have solved 5 configurations date. Keep up the great ccx work.
I’ve now worked my way back and forth through four of the 50 (!!) versions of this puzzle, and its impressive how different each configuration is. The sounds of working it are really satisfying, the feel and workmanship is the quality I’ve come to expect from CD. If I could change one thing, I wish there was a way (but know there isn’t) to have a bit less slack in the sliding so pieces would stay. where. I. put. them!
The most puzzle for the money anywhere - love this thing!
Loved it. Still haven’t figured it out.
