Rick sent me this design a while ago and initially, I wasn't going to make it...all those holes are incredibly time-consuming to drill. He stepped in and helped with the drilling, so this is a true collaborative effort between designer and producer.
Logical Progression is a very unique cube. With only one solution which must be accomplished with serial assembly, it seems at first look that this puzzle will be a trial and error nightmare. However, the puzzle is designed such that scrutiny of the pieces will reveal their positional constraints; therefore the puzzle can be solved by analysis rather than guesswork. More information can be found HERE.
Construction of this puzzle is very good, with an accurate fit. Because of all the dowels, the puzzle pieces are not overly tight, but pushing everything together once it's on the shelf shows the accuracy of the pieces...everything settles together and it displays quite nicely.
40 copies made for sale, each signed and dated. This puzzle is shipped assembled. It is extremely unlikely we will make this design again.
As always, I order with complete confidence from Eric. I know the puzzles will be well packed for safe delivery and the product will be very high quality. This was the case this time. I’ve still not managed to reassemble the bloody thing but I expected it to take me weeks if not months! Thanks mate!
I'm still struggling with this one off and on, but it's a very cool puzzle.
Well made as always
The name of the Logical Progression Interlocking Cube is the perfect name/description. You will not solve this one by randomly trying pieces to see if they fit. (Trust me I know). The way to solve is to sit down, take your time, look at each piece, and think about where each one can/must fit. Even doing this, it is not too easy. There will be times when a piece seems like a good fit until a few moves later and then it is backtrack time. It is very satisfying when solved.
The construction of the puzzle is great. Due to the type of puzzle it is, the fit is not as tight as many of Eric's other puzzles, but once assembled the cube holds together well.
