Six Doors by Yavuz Demirhan is a variation on the classic six-piece burr shape. The added rings around the endgrain resemble a stile and rail door once the puzzle is assembled. Each ring complicates the movement of the pieces to reach a formidable but approachable level 14 solution. 60 copies, 30 of each variant, are available for this release, each signed and dated. I have many burr puzzles in my collection, but this one stands out. The rings are used to good effect. They not only make the puzzle look great, but also are an essential part of the design. Level fourteen is impressive for a six piece burr, even more so when you consider the simplicity of each piece. It goes pretty much without saying, but the craftsmanship is as usual outstanding. The puzzle pieces fit tightly while movement is still very smooth. It also looks beautiful.
Beautiful work and a great challenge both taking apart and reassembly. CD never disappoints!
The mechanics' of this burr puzzle are sooo smooth. Fun to take apart and put back together.
