Nope Box is an entertaining little puzzle box with sequential discovery style elements. Despite its moderate difficulty, the solution sequence is a fun to discover and satisfying to repeat. The will make sense when you start to solve it...you'll think you got it, but you're not there quite yet!
This edition of Nope Box has been slightly redesigned to improve production flow, but the solution is substantially similar to the initial release. Please note that this puzzle requires no force to solve, and that excessive force could damage its precision-cut panels. No spinning, banging or shaking is necessary.
91 copies are available for this release, each signed and dated. This puzzle is shipped assembled.
Our work is handcrafted to very precise tolerances and must be kept within the range of 40-60% relative humidity at all times. Failure to do so may cause inoperability or permanent damage.
I really enjoyed the Nope box! For one, the woodwork is simply amazing! It has beautiful wood grains and I love the color contrast of the two woods. The puzzle was about a medium solve, which for me is the way I like it! I’m not a solver that needs to have a difficult, brain twisting puzzle every time I solve! As long as there’s a little challenge, or a new mechanism, Im content. I’m definitely keeping this one to display, sorry, you’ll have to find your own!
This little box packs a big punch! Not an easy solve but not difficult, just the right amount of challenge. Very satisfying too! I am fascinated with magnets and love the use of them in puzzles (tbh, I sometimes add small magnets to a puzzle to improve stability - but never needed on a CD one). The magnetic forces on this box are perfectly arranged and cleverly used. As soon as I picked it up I knew it was going to be a great process of exploration and discovery before the solution would be found. I was not disappointed. Fit and finish is superb, as always, but in this case I'm doubly impressed with how well the parts are machined and fitted. Another prized addition to my collection, thank you Eric and the CD team!!!
As with all of Eric's works we are talking about a high qulaity product although my copy has a few micro ehight differences for the moving parts which easily inidcated what will most probably be moving in the first place. Self speaking this is more complaining on a high level as the majority of craftsmen do not even reach that level. I was very astonished how much ideas must have gone into this design and what Eric packed into that relative small space. As a member of the small box series I found it to be a perfect extension. The personal solve time was about 10 minutes so for the (certainly justified) price it was quite a quick solve but all in all I very much liked the NOPE BOX and can recommend it.
